1) Honestly I don't like who is running but if I had to vote I would vote for Obama. Just for this reason I really don't like Palin. As I listen to what she has to say it makes me feel stupid, because she changes her mind and then when ever she is being interviewed she can't even give a full straight answer. I think that Sarah just needs to get over herself and realize that this is a real election and not some thing that she can say whatever she wants and get away with it. Because if something happens to McCain then that means she would get in as our President and to me I don't think that people would really listen to her just for how her actions were on being interviewed and what choices she made. If you actually listen to what both of them have to say it makes me feel like this is the best that we could come up with as having a President, and to me that's not very good. McCain has some good points along with Obama. But who McCain has for Vice President makes me side more with Obama. But everything that Obama has done like knowing all of these terrorist makes me think that maybe having him as a President isn't so great either. But I would rather have a terrorist as our President, than a President that has the worst Vice President to take his place. Cause if you just think about it who is most likely to fail as a President. McCain or Obama, plus you have to think about there Vice Presidents to. Just by looking at there Vice Presidents I think you know who I would side for. That is why I would vote for Obama. I think that our main issues in the United States is gas prices and food prices, don't get me wrong they have went down a lot but it's still a main priority in or country. Because there's a lot of people that have jobs and families that need food to live off of. With the way the prices are it makes it hard for people to get what they need to get, I think that it's just stupid going to the store and paying as much as at least $2.00 or more just for a gallon of milk. I don't think that you should have to pay that much just for a gallon of milk. As my decision as going for the the President it still remains as Obama, it was because of Palin I made this choice.

2) I think that Obama would make a better President than McCain is because I think that he might focus on what is really important. Unlike McCain and Palin, Obama actually has something to say about our country and how it should be handled sure he might not have a lot of experience but I think that he would do better than an old man and his stupid Vice President. McCain does have experience but I think that he might do something stupid just by listening to Palin and I think that he doesn't take all the issues that is happening in or United States very seriously.

1.) If I could vote in this years election, the 2008 Election, I would vote for the Democratic Nominee, Barack Obama. A few of the issues that are important to me are the economy, education, energy and the environment, health care, homeland security, the War on Terror and Iraq, social security, and taxes. With the economic bailout bill that we had to create to get us out of the debt that we were put into, the economy is the number one thing to focus on because if McCain follows Bush, we'll be in more trouble than we will be in with Obama. Also, the energy crisis we face is another problem with rising gas prices and needing more to fuel our cars from foreign countries. We also have cars that get on average twenty miles per gallon, and we need to embrace a new energy source for our vehicles. I came to my decision to go with Obama/ Biden 08 because of the trouble that the Republicans have gotten us into since 2001 and I believe that is time for change, and I believe that change can happen with Barack.

2.) I do believe that Barack Obama will do a better job than McCain in the White House. One reason I believe this is because McCain voted with near 90% of the time. Also another reason is McCain's age because he is 72 years of age, when he would end his term if reelected in 2012, he would be 80 when he leaves office, and because of his age, he could possibly die in office, which would leave us with our first female president, Sarah Palin, who has had questionable publicity in the public. One example of this publicity would be the prank call on her on November 1st, when she believed a call she received from a Montreal radio program was from French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Also another reason that I think that McCain wouldn't make a good president is that his policies would be about the same as Bush's. If McCain becomes president, it would be like another four or eight years of having Bush as president. This is why I believe that the United States and the world as a whole will be better with Barack Obama winning the 2008 Presidential Election.

1) If I could vote this election, I would give my vote to Senator John McCain in a heartbeat. I feel that I am extremely well-educated on my opinion, unlike most Americans. I'm aware that my choice for president is extremely unpopular, especially as most teenagers opt to jump on the anti-conservative bandwagon. Whether they jump on the bandwagon for the sake of sheer rebellion, because of hatred for the current governmental authority, or just to belong with some group, I'm not sure. The bandwagon is a nasty thing, and I sincerely hope that those people will make better choices next election. I also hope that those same people will take a better look at the facts next election.
For this election season, the facts are extremely straightforward. Liberals don't like the facts, especially since their candidate is flawed with constant bad judgement, without fail. It's fact. When the tables are turned onto John McCain, the amount of poor leadership and dirty laundry in comparison to Barack Obama is astoundingly less. The Republican candidate is an exceptional man. John McCain has served his country fearlessly. Some say that he uses that fact to his advantage, and I find that absolutely nauseating. How many of us would be willing to withstand all that he did as a POW? None of us would. McCain refused to surrender himself to the enemy because he did not want to give America the name of cowardice. What could be a better indication of the job he will do as president? He didn't let his country down then, and he won't now.
While I might not agree with his stances on some issues, I do agree with a majority of them. McCain and Palin’s desire for fiscal and economic reform is the major stance that finds me supporting their ticket. I have no desire to pay the trillion dollar debt that the country is currently in, and I certainly have no desire to be under an administration that will only add to that debt. I agree thoroughly with McCain’s belief in Reaganomics, low taxes, and small business. Capitalism made this country, and all steps must be taken to protect it. If it is not protected, the economy will crash. Money, as unfortunate as it is, is the basis of everything. I feel that McCain is the best man to hold to that responsibility, and all the responsibilities that come with being president.

2) The answer to this question is an easy one. As I hinted at in the previous response, Barack Obama makes bad choices. Consistently. John McCain does not. Does John McCain’s pastor damn America? If his pastor did, I’m sure that McCain would not sit in on the services for 20 years and let the man marry him and baptize his children.
Is McCain friends with an unrepentant terrorist and a man who has ties to Hezbollah? No, he isn’t. John McCain doesn’t want to “bankrupt the coal industry” or “spread the wealth”. Nor was John McCain raised by communist activists and sympathizers, and nor is he supported by Marxists, socialist groups, and terrorist organizations. Obama has three suspicious friends, I could understand one, but three? To ignore that would be foolish. Obama has ties with groups of people who are militants, extremists, and terrorists. I honestly don’t want to hear people scoff at me for holding that against Obama. I might be placing him with guilt by association, but it’s a fact.
I personally believe that John McCain will do a better job than Barack Obama because he is everything Obama isn’t. He does have a relatively spotless record. He does make good decisions. He is supported by the good people of America, not those who want to destroy lives and turn our society upside down for some dabbling in socialism. John McCain has experience in government and foreign affairs. Barack Obama is a freshman senator who rose from obscurity in the blink of an eye.
Sure, you can laugh my views off all you’d like. You can say I’m reciting conservative agenda verbatim. But I cannot see how anyone would honestly believe Obama is an upright man who will do what’s best for this country. His track record has too many bumps in it, and his career is barely started.

1. Who would/will you vote for in the 2008 presidential election? What are the issues that are most important to you as a voter? How did you come to your decision?

I wouldn’t vote for anybody in the 2008 election because I’m am not old enough to vote and I have no interest in politics or voting what so ever. I could care less who won the 2008 election. I wouldn’t vote for neither McCain or Obama but if I had choice choose between the two of them I would most likely vote for Obama rather than McCain.
The issue that are most important to me as a voter would have to be gas prices because it keeps going up and down everyday. You’ll never know what its going to be, one day it could be all the way up to 5 dollars. I would rather walk than pay 5 dollars for a gallon of gas. You would spend over 100 dollars just to fill up your vehicle, maybe even 200. Also another issue for me would have to be the milk prices because paying 2 dollars for a gallon of milk is ridiculous. You would be broke from buying milk and gas.
I came to my decision based upon other peoples thoughts and opinions of Obama because I barely keep track of the elections that I don’t even know what all issues the candidates talk about or want to change. Also I think Obama’s issues are more important than McCain’s. Obama issues compared to McCain’s are life changing.

2. Why do you believe your candidate will do a better job in the White House than his opponent?

I don’t believe that my candidate or any candidate will do a better job in the White House compared to his or her opponent because I don’t think either one of them will do better in the White House. Neither McCain or Obama are suitable to be in the White House. I don’t think that any president will be suitable for the title or being in the White House. I don’t think either one has the qualifications to be in the White House or has the experience to run this country.

1. If I was voting this year I probably would not vote for either of them (Obama/McCain). I wouldn’t vote at all this year. I don’t think that either of the candidates are worthy of the job. I think that they will destroy this country more than what it already has been. To me I think that better candidates should be chosen to run for president. Ones you know what they are talking about and know what they are doing. Neither one of the candidates really know what their doing or what is wrong with the economy. Issues that are important to me is our economy for starters. What is the candidate going to do to help our economy? Or how are they going to help us? neither of them have the slightest idea what is happening now or how their going to fix that. They have no clue what the people really want or how to help the ones who can barley afford to live somewhere or to buy clothing or food. I came by my decision after seeing newspaper headlines, reading on the internet, hearing what people wear saying, and seeing their commercials ridicule each other. Before they even try to go into office they should know what their doing. It’s to late for that now. Hopefully whoever gets elected will gain some kind of understanding on how to run a country and help the citizens.

2. I’m not for a specific person, so I can not fully answer this question. Personally I don’t want either of them in the White House, but if I had to choose I guess I would go with McCain. McCain doesn’t really know what he’s doing same as Obama. I’m not being racist but I just don’t want Obama in the White House. I don’t want McCain in the White House either. This country is going to have a lot of problems when either one of them get elected.

1.) If I could have voted this year I would have voted for the Republican Candidate in John McCain and Sarah Palin. I would vote for McCain because of his plans for the economy, energy, national security, healthcare, Iraq, and the environment. I would also vote for McCain because of his experience in the Senate, which he has more than Obama. He believes in the small stuff to help our failing economy. He will also do what is needed to keep our country safe against over sea threats like Iraq and Al- queda and in the future, Iran. He knows what must be done to protect our country as he was a POW and did not give into the enemies threats and came out alve. This is why I would vote for Senator John McCain.

2.) I believe that McCain will do the better job as the president in the White House for many reasons. McCain will do what is best for his fellow Americans and does not have questionable friends with ties to terrorism. Obama also himself has ties to the Middle- East as his father was a Muslim. McCain however will spread opportunity to Americans as he will spread opportunity towards to all Americans unlike Obama who will rise taxes to do this. he will also deliver on changes that he is talking about and his reforms will happen as he has a record with reformations. This is why I believe that McCain and his vice president Sarah Palin will do better in the White House than Barack Obama and Biden in the 2008 Presidential Election.

1. I'm not exactly pleased with either candidate, but as you already know, I would vote for John McCain if I could. He's definitely a much better choice than Obama. I think that Lyndsay and I are the only two in the class that would vote this way, but I feel that a lot of the younger generation have just jumped on the bandwagon. Obama is a much better speaker than McCain, but that doesn't mean that he would make a better President. People are blaming Bush for the shape our country is in, but Bush doesn't make all of the decisions. He has to be backed by several other people. However, people are still assuming that since our country is like this with Bush, it will be the same if McCain is in office because he is a Republican.
The most important issue that I think needs addressed right now is definitely the economy. Obama keeps saying "change" and saying that we need to make spending cuts, but he never exactly says how he is going to provide us with that change besides pulling the troops out of Iraq. McCain said he will balance the budget by eliminating wasteful spending, such as overspending on Medicare. Also, a lot of people don't like Sarah Palin, but I think that she would be an excellent vice president at this point in time. She pulled Alaska out of debt, and she's said that America needs to live within their means and we need to make several spending cuts. I completely agree. When it comes to health care, McCain is against universal health care, while Obama is for it. I don't think it's the government's job to provide the people with health care. That only puts us in more debt.
Also, I like the fact that McCain has experience in the military -- something that he would be over as President. He has served our country and was a POW for years.

2. Obama doesn't have the experience a President needs. Some people are saying that his lack of experience is actually a good thing. C'MON PEOPLE, this is our President we're talking about! A couple years in the Senate, and you think that he's ready to lead our country? Like I said previously, he keeps saying "change" and all this, but it all seems to be just empty promises since he never exactly states how he's going to give us that change.
McCain has more experience, better views for the most part, and a better record. Some are saying they aren't voting for McCain because he's going to die in office. He was a POW for years and had nearly every bone in his body broken. I'm sure that he's not exactly in the best shape possible, but does that mean that you vote for someone else for that fact? No. Also, like I said before, some people are voting for Obama just because McCain is a Republican. They assume that he is just like Bush, and it will ruin our country. Our economy isn't due to Bush anyways. It's because of people who can't live within their means.
I think that McCain and Palin would be good for the economy. Palin has pulled Alaska out of debt, and that's what we need right now. We need spending cuts. I like the fact that Palin said, “if you have $100,000, you don't go out and buy a $300,000 house.” America needs to realize that we need to live within our means or else our economy will reflect our poor choices. I think that McCain and Palin can help our economy and help the people realize these things.
McCain has better views on the most important issues that our country is faced with, and I think that it would be obvious to even the Obama fans that he is the best choice if they would truly listen to what he has to say instead of jumping on the bandwagon. Our country doesn't need four years of socialism.

1) Well, I obviously am not old enough to vote, but if I could then I would definately vote for Barack Obama. i would necessarily vote for Obama because I completely support and agree with him, but because I believe that he is the better candidate out of the two. Obama may not have much experience, but he is young and has new ideas that can be great for our country. Plus, he obviously has the better Vice President candidate. Joe Biden has experience in politics and will make a great Vice President. Sarah Palin, in my opinion, is a degrace to women in politics. She is an idiot, end of story. Factors that influence my opinion about this Presidential election are taxes, economy, abortion, and most of all, the vice presidential candidates. The main reson why I have decided that I would vote for Barack Obama is because of my opinion of John McCain's Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin.

2) I do believe that Barack Obama will do a much better job in the White House than John McCain would. I think it's time for a change and McCain would not be a change. Afterall, he has voted with George W. Bush neraly 90% of the time. Why would we elect McCain as our President when he has similar beliefs and view points as our current President? If he was to be elected, then our country would definately be in much worse hape than it is now. Barack Obama, however, has different policies and beliefs than George W. Bush, which means if h was elected to be our President our country would change greatly, and for the better. Plus, McCain is tad bit too old to be elected President, in my opinion. It is likely that he will die while in office, which would leave us with Sarah Palin as a President. As I havementioned before, Sarah Palin is and idiot and doesn't have the right experience, values, or intelligence to become the President of the United States of America. i think that our country would be much better off with Barack Obama and Joe Biden, end of story.

1. In my opinion friends shouldn’t discuss politics amongst their selves. It causes debate on issues that hit are hard in the world we live in today. The presidential election raises a lot of debates but I think this year was different. The older you get, your understanding of the world changes. The news becomes important and the choices that other people make affect you directly. I’m seventeen years old and I am just months away from voting. I wish I could vote but I can’t. If I could vote, I would vote for Barrack Obama. I wouldn’t vote for him because of his color or because he is a democrat. I would vote for him because I think he would make a strong president. World issues and economics cause turmoil all around the world and even in my home. It’s refreshing to see a man that actually wants to stop this.

Yes there are other nations in our world that are suffering. America always rises up and helps those in need. Right now, we are in need. This country is becoming weak and we need a president that’s wants to help the country not other countries. The workingman drives is the core of this country, and Obama sees that. He sees that the workingman is suffering, having to sleep in the streets with his family instead of being in a nice home. He sees that the workingman is losing pride because he can’t afford the necessities of life. Obama sees me; he knows what I need and what other people need.

I am not going to get into moral issues their not necessary to address in this question. I stand strong with my opinion and I will keep it that way. I wish I could vote so I could have a part in changing our country’s future and be a part of history as well.

2. I think Obama would be a wonderful president. There is no other candidate I would want to be president. I do not care for McCain because he is too conservative. He has strong moral codes that bring him down. Things in America need to change and ignorance will not help the United States. I also think that an old man is not a good icon for the country. I respect the elderly but they don’t represent change and strength. McCain doesn’t show any strength he seems like a pushover that will be told what to do by the congress. Obama is young, strong, and full of new ideas, which will be refreshing to this country.
I look at Sarah Palin, his running mate. Then I look at McCain and can’t help but think that he had enough sense to know the he didn’t show change. So he selected a female running mate to show America that he wanted the country to change. I don’t think America wanted that kind of change, the kind of change that results in one hundred fifty thousand dollars of clothes for a vice president. That’s about the only change America would of seen.
Obama stands on his own, yes he stands with his family because he is a family man, he doesn’t put them out to show. He just wants them with him because he loves his family. Obama doesn’t use cheap parlor tricks. You could see that in his ads on television. McCain focused his ads on Obama, instead of focusing on America. I like Obama because he wants to be president to help, and that’s what his ads focus on.

1.)In the upcoming election if were able to vote I would vote for John Mccain. I would vote for Mccain because he is a Christian and so am I. Christianity or religion is the most important issue to me and Barack Obama does not believe in my God or as far as I know any God, so Mccain wins me over there. I do not like Obama because his views are very cruel to me. First off I think that being a homosexual is wrong and am against it totally. i also think that abortion is wrong because it is murder and Barack is for all of this. I would vote for John Mccain and Sarah Palin because they would make the world a wonderful place. Many people say that they wanted change so that is why they voted Obama, but no matter who wins it will not be George W. Bush, so it will therefore be a change. Plus Obama is the wrong candidate because he is going to waste our money even more. We are already enough into debt and it is not fair to punish success. What i mean by that is that the upper class works hard for their money and it is simply not fair to take it away from them by taxing them more like Obama plans to do. That is why I would vote for John Mccain.

2.)I think that Mccain will do a much better job than Obama for many reasons. One being Mccains experience outnumbers Baracks by million to one, basically. John knows how to rule and he knows how to deal with people as Obama does not. With Mccain people will get to keep the money they work hard for and not be taxed out to ying-yang. They work hard for their money and deserve to keep it. Mccain will do better than Obama because Obama believes not in the war. If he were to end the war we could get easily all killed with bombs and more terrorist attacks like in 911, but with Mccain we will stick it out and end the war or try to without killing every person in our country.

1) If i could vote this year, i would vote for the democratic party. Their nominee is Barrack Obama. i think he is a lot better candidate than Senator McCain. For one i just do not like McCain. I think he is way to old to be president. I also don't like Palin. She is way to into herself and she needs to get some common sense. And the fact that they spend so much money on her new look. None of that stuff is important to me i want a young and vibrant president that can fix our economy. Plus if McCain would die in office i would hate for Palin to be our president because i think our country would go to crap. Obama stirs up a lot of racial issues but overall i think he has put up a hard fight and deserves to be president. I think that all that McCain can do is dog on Obama and that is just not cool. I also think that Obama speaks a lot for the youth of America. He has done an awesome job on relating and getting the youth to get out and vote. While Obama is pro-choice, i really don't agree with abortions or anything but i don't think that I'm basing my vote on morals. My most important issue is the war. I think that McCain is going to do what Bush has done. All i want for our country is peace and i think Obama could bring us that. He is very persuasive and a strong speaker and i think he could get us out of this war. I've come to my decision by listening to Obama's speeches. When i listen to him talk it seems like he is not always just speaking about the election or himself but about he us as a hole and we can do to help it. I think MCcain always talks about himself and what he can do and blah blah blah.

2)I think that Obama would do a lot better job than McCain. For one he is a lot better speaker than McCain. I also think that he can really speak for the public and get our economy back to what it was. I think McCain was just wanting to have the title of the president of the united states. While I think that Obama is really concerned about the issues. I think that he will help bring the war to an end and truly satisfy our country. I was also scared for McCain to get it because i heard that if he got office then he wanted more troops to go to Iraq in the thousands. This would have caused a draft possibly. And my only brother will be turning 18 soon and i would hate to see him go to war. Obama will do better in the White House because i think that he just has a certain presence around him. He shows that he is not intimidated to fight for what he wants. I think he proves this as being the first African American candidate that we have ever had. I think McCain would have been a push over because he is older and just seems more settled. WHile Obama seems settled about nothing and is ready to fight for what is right. Plus, the last democrat that was in office was Clinton. When he was in office our country was doing amazing and it could be just good timing but i don't think so. I think that the country itself is at more peace and has better times when there is a Democrat in office. I think that Obama is change. Change is a lot better than staying the same if you ask me. Because right now our country is at war, hardcore in debt, and our economt is going down the drain. I think McCain will and can help get us out of the war, help get us out of debt, and get our economy back on top.

If I were able to vote for this 2008 presidential election I would vote for Obama. One reason I would consider voting for him would be because he wants to tax the lower classes the same as always. This is important to me because I am still a teenager and any job I can get would be considered low class. If I was older though and I had finished college, I would not vote for him because he wants to tax the upper class more than the lower class so age affects my vote a lot. Another reason for voting for him is I have heard him give speeches and he sounds very confident in himself running our country. I would not want a president who got up in front of everyone and could not pull through and would be nerves. Obama talks about the changes that will be made and he sounds like a leader and not a follower. And those are the reasons I would vote for Obama.

2. Why do you believe your candidate will do a better job in the White House than his opponent?
I believe Obama would be a better candidate to do a better job in the white house than his opponents because he seems like he has good leadership, and is very organized. When he gives his speeches I think he tells citizens what he is going to do as president very clearly and understanding. I think he seems like he really is going to stick to his word because of how he represents his self and really take America into consideration as far as I can tell. I do not think Obama will let anything just slip through the cracks and justice will be served. If another county attacks us Obama seems like he will fight back.

1) On election day, I voted for Obama. I have supported Obama since the beginning of the race for the democratic nominee. I feel strong in supporting Obama because I feel that he is a much better candidate than John McCain. Issues that are important to me are the economy, the war, and what each candidate is doing with graduating high school students who are planning on attending college. Right now, everyone is freaking out about our struggling economy and is afraid of another great depression. We are not the same nation that we were in the 1930's. In our time, if the stock market crashes, it's not going to force our country into a great depression. There are far more things running our country now other than the stock market rather than in the 30's. To be honest, neither candidate is really going to be able to do anything to help the economy. Yeah they can propose plans that could help a little, but the only thing that can fix the economy is the economy itself. I have a cousin who is in the Marines. Two years ago, he was sent to Iraq with the Army. He stayed at an airbase holding 40,000+ and did not do a single thing while he was there for two years. The most action he seen while there was people farming and a kid giving him the bird. Why is there 40,000 soldiers just sitting there. "We were in another country to just sit there and keep a base tidy I guess." Those are words straight from his mouth. What's the point i having so many over there to do nothing? They could probably do more to help the war from home to be honest. I am eighteen and graduating high school and quite frankly, I'd rather not be forced to risk my life for a large number of people that I don't particularly care for anyways. I also rather not see my friends and family in harms way either. Each candidate has proposed different plans as far as helping Seniors pay for college. Both plans benefit graduating students but I feel that Obama's will help support the student's in need of the extra assistance.

2)I feel that Obama will make a better president than John McCain because Obama's views about the economy are more realistic and reliable. One man's proposal isn't going to solve our problem, but I feel that Obama's proposal will do a lot more for the situation than McCain's. If you don't know who is proposing what, Google it. I'd rather be talking about what I feel and not what you don't know. (not directed at Parsons, directed at any other reader). I hear a lot of people complaining that Obama's views are too socialistic. Maybe something close to socialism is what this country needs to get back on the right track. Why is the presidential election so important compared to the other branches. The president has no more power than the judicial and legislative branches. So why is the presidential election made to be more important? The answer to that question is because our country talks about being equal, but isn't. For one, there's no such thing as equality. It is something that can never be achieved. How can you teach and preach individuality to young generations and expect thing to be equal to one another? You can't. We give to much power to one person. As far as legalities go, yes the president is equal to the other branches, but in principle, he is much higher. I doubt that there is a person you know that could name every member of the House of Representatives. Yes it is easier to memorize one person's name opposed to many. Class is over. Have to cut this short.
